There was a small surprise when eighth ranked Eltham Wildcats (5-8) beat 5th ranked Diamond Valley Eagles (8-5) in Greensborough 77-68 on Sunday. Eltham Wildcats forced 20 Diamond Valley Eagles turnovers. It was a good game for Benjamin Waldren who led his team to a victory with 20 points and 9 rebounds. Guard Jarrod Fryar (194-93) contributed with 17 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Eltham Wildcats' coach used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. American forward Ryen Vilmont (196-92, college: Franklin Pierce, agency: Two Points) replied with 21 points and 6 rebounds and guard Matt Reynolds (183) added 18 points in the effort for Diamond Valley Eagles. Eltham Wildcats maintains eighth position in League with 5-8 record. Loser Diamond Valley Eagles dropped to the sixth place with five games lost. Eltham Wildcats will face higher ranked Hume City Broncos (#5) in Tullamarine in the next round and it may be quite challenging game.
