Regular Season Round 44: Nogales - Agua Prieta 91-97

No shocking result in a game when sixth ranked Vaqueros (20-19) defeated on the road bottom-ranked Fuerza Guinda Nogales (14-25) 97-91. The game was also dominated by American players. Forward Sammy Yeager (193-89, college: CS Fullerton) orchestrated the victory by scoring 37 points (!!!), 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Guard Steven Pledger (193-90, college: Oklahoma) contributed with 22 points and 4 assists for the winners. Kenny Jones (198-84, college: Kentucky St., agency: DTMones) replied with 34 points (!!!) and 9 rebounds and swingman O'Louis McCullough (198-82, college: Francis Marion, agency: DTMones) added 22 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Fuerza Guinda Nogales. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Vaqueros moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Guasave. Fuerza Guinda Nogales at the other side dropped to the bottom position with 25 games lost. They share it with Navolato. Vaqueros will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Fuerza Guinda Nogales will play again on the road against Vaqueros (#6) in Agua Prieta and hope to get back on the winning track.
