Regular Season Round 45: Guaymas - Los Mochis 80-77

Ninth-ranked Pioneros Los Mochis (16-24) were very close to win a game against third ranked Ostioneros de Guaymas (24-16). Ostioneros de Guaymas managed to secure only three-point victory 80-77. However their fans expected much easier game. American guard Paul Marigney (192-82, college: St.Mary's, CA) stepped up and scored 20 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) for the winners and Dominican guard Luis Flores (188-81, college: Manhattan, agency: 011 Sports) chipped in 22 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Ostioneros de Guaymas players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American forward Travis Franklin (200-88, college: Colorado St.) with 29 points and the other American import point guard Brandon Morris (183-91, college: Houston) scored 20 points and 6 rebounds. Ostioneros de Guaymas maintains third place with 24-16 record having four points less than leader Hermosillo. Pioneros Los Mochis lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the eighth position with 24 games lost. They share it with Obregon. Ostioneros de Guaymas will play against Garra Canera de Navolato (#10) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Pioneros Los Mochis will play against Frayles de Guasave and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
