Very important is a road loss of second ranked Cimarrones (16-9) against fifth ranked Halcones (13-12) on Friday night. Visiting Cimarrones were defeated by Halcones in Cucuta 92-79. Halcones players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. American forward R.J. McGhee (198, college: Oklahoma City, agency: CGL Sports) stepped up and scored 23 points, 5 assists and 6 steals for the winners and forward Jose Baquero (199) chipped in 9 points and 17 rebounds. Halcones' coach used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. At the losing side American guard Brandon Sperling (196-90, college: Humboldt St.) responded with a double-double by scoring 28 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists and the other American import guard Deandre Haskins (193-88, college: Chaminade) scored 13 points and 7 rebounds. Four Cimarrones players scored in double figures. Halcones have a solid series of four victories in a row. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Sabios. Cimarrones lost third consecutive game. They keep the second position with nine games lost. Halcones will play against league's leader Academia in Montana in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Cimarrones will play at home against Condores and hope to get back on the winning track.
