Leader Rayos de Hermosillo delivered the twenty ninth victory. This time they beat 5th ranked Vaqueros (22-20) 106-99 in Agua Prieta. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Vaqueros. Vaqueros were ahead by 6 points at the halftime before a 62-49 second half run of Rayos de Hermosillo. They dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Vaqueros' 32. Rayos de Hermosillo players were unselfish on offense dishing 28 assists. The game was dominated by American players. Swingman Michael Craig (196-91, college: S.Mississippi) orchestrated the victory by scoring 24 points and 6 assists. Forward Alfonzo McKinnie (203, college: Green Bay) contributed with 21 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Rayos de Hermosillo's coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Guard Steven Pledger (193-90, college: Oklahoma) answered with 36 points (!!!) and forward Sammy Yeager (193-89, college: CS Fullerton) added 22 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for Vaqueros.
