Regular Season Round 47: Culiacan - Nogales 81-76

Date: June 4, 2016
There was no surprise when 11th ranked Fuerza Guinda Nogales (14-28) were defeated on the road by fourth ranked Caballeros de Culiacan (24-17) 81-76 on Saturday. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 26-16. But Fuerza Guinda Nogales won third quarter 27-23. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a great evening for American guard Gregory Howard (193-89, college: Walsh) who led his team to a victory scoring 20 points and 5 rebounds. Trinidad and Tobago-American point guard Ian Young (191-81, college: Auburn, agency: Interperformances) helped adding 15 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Howard is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Caballeros de Culiacan players scored in double figures. American swingman O'Louis McCullough (198-82, college: Francis Marion, agency: DTMones) responded with 27 points and 5 rebounds and Nigerian-Jamaican swingman Weyinmi Rose (196-86, college: Providence) scored 22 points.
