Sabios (#4) were upset in Manizales by seventh ranked Patriotas 74-61. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Sabios. The best player for the winners was American forward Titus Mims (201, college: Hardin-Simmons) who scored 22 points, 9 rebounds and 5 blocks. The other American import power forward Aramie Brooks (203-87, college: Northwestern St.) chipped in a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds. Brooks is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Patriotas players scored in double figures. The former international center John Hernandez (207-84) produced a double-double by scoring 17 points and 11 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) and American guard Cory Bradford (191-78, college: Illinois) added 20 points respectively for the hosts. Sabios' coach Gaston Fernandez tested twelve players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Defending champion maintains seventh position with 9-19 record. Loser Sabios dropped to the fifth place with 13 games lost.
