Regular Season Round 47: Los Mochis - Guasave 96-85

There was a small surprise when ninth ranked Pioneros Los Mochis (18-24) defeated at home 7th ranked Frayles de Guasave (20-22) 96-85 on Saturday. Frayles de Guasave was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. Pioneros Los Mochis looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The game was also dominated by American players. It was a great evening for Leon Gibson (206-91, college: Houston) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 32 points, 17 rebounds and 6 assists. Swingman Manny Hernandez (190, college: Lynchburg) helped adding 23 points. Guard Durrell Summers (193-89, college: Michigan St.) responded with 36 points (!!!) and 6 assists and center Marcus Bell (206-90, college: CS Stanislaus) produced a double-double by scoring 26 points and 11 rebounds (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field). Pioneros Los Mochis moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Obregon. Frayles de Guasave lost ninth consecutive game. They keep the seventh position with 22 games lost.
