Everything could happen in Loganholme at the game between two tied teams. Both fifth ranked Logan Thunder and 7th ranked Dolphins had identical 5-2 record. This time Logan Thunder used a home court advantage and defeated the opponent from Cairns 78-67. Logan Thunder made 21-of-23 charity shots (91.3 percent) during the game. They also forced 24 Dolphins turnovers. It was a very good performance for guard Kate Gaze (173-90, college: St.Mary's, CA) who helped to win the game recording 27 points and 4 assists (made all of her ten free throws !!!). Forward Cassie Smith (180-89) contributed with 15 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Four Logan Thunder players scored in double figures. Forward Rachel Pryor (184-89) answered with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 15 rebounds and forward Jade Kennedy (185-89, college: Wyoming) added 15 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Dolphins. The victory was the sixth consecutive win for Logan Thunder. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Perry Lakes H. Dolphins at the other side keep the seventh position with three games lost. Logan Thunder's next round opponent will be Bears (#4) in Bundaberg.
