Regular Season Round 13: Gladstone PCP - Ipswich F. 90-73

Everything went according to plan in Gladstone where ninth ranked Power (3-5) beat 12th ranked Force (1-5) 90-73. Power dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Force's 34. Power forced 19 Force turnovers and outrebounded them 54-27 including a 21-1 advantage in offensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of New Zealand forward Charmian Mellars (182-79) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 31 points and 14 rebounds. Markell Walker contributed with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 18 rebounds for the winners. French forward Soana Lucet (185-87, college: Arizona, agency: LBM Management) answered with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds and Shyla Heal added 17 points in the effort for Force. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Power moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Kalamunda E.S. Force at the other side keeps the twelfth position with five games lost. Power's next round opponent will be higher ranked Logan Thunder (#3) in Loganholme and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Force will play against SC Rip (#14) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
