An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Morphett Vale. Third ranked Tigers faced one of their biggest challengers Bearcats. Host Tigers (12-5) defeated guests from Woodville (11-6) 81-71. The hosts trailed by 5 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 3-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 81-71. Tigers made 25-of-29 free shots (86.2 percent) during the game. Tigers outrebounded Bearcats 54-36 including a 41-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. Bearcats were plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was American guard Ta'Rea Cunnigan (175-93, college: San Jose St.) who scored 28 points and 6 rebounds. Denelle Fawcett chipped in a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was Tahlia Fejo who recorded 20 points and 6 rebounds and Stana Zecevic (-90) added 16 points and 8 rebounds respectively. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Tigers maintains third position in League with 12-5 record behind leader Nunawading S. Loser Bearcats keep the fourth place with six games lost. Tigers will face Warriors (#7) in Flinders Park in the next round. Bearcats will play on the road against the league's leader Flames in Marden and hope to win that game.
