Rather expected game in Crows Nest where 5th ranked North Bears (7-7) were defeated by third ranked Spireds (9-6) 71-67 on Sunday. Spireds looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The best player for the winners was guard Jaimee Kennedy (178-88) who had a double-double by scoring 27 points, 17 rebounds, 8 assists and 4 steals. Tristan Black chipped in 8 points and 14 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Kristen Barnes (190-90) who recorded a double-double by scoring 26 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists and Kate Cranney added 15 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists respectively. Spireds maintains third position in League with 9-6 record having six points less than leader Nunawading S. Loser North Bears dropped to the sixth place with seven games lost. Spireds will have a break next round. North Bears will play against the league's second-placed Hawks (#2) and hope to win that game.
