The game between closely ranked teams ended with eighth ranked Bears' (7-7) home victory over 9th ranked Rollers (7-8) 88-86 on Friday. Bears dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Rollers' 40. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. Christina Boag fired 19 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. Forward Carly Boag (188-95, college: Minot St.) chipped in 24 points and 9 rebounds. Four Bears players scored in double figures. Power forward Nadeen Payne (188-93) produced a double-double by scoring 38 points (!!!) and 12 rebounds (made all of her eight free throws) and the former international point guard Natalie Hurst (164-83) added 16 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists respectively for lost side. Bears maintains eighth place in League with 7-7 record. Loser Rollers keep the ninth position with eight games lost. Bears will face Power (#10) in Gladstone in the next round. Rollers will play at home against Pirates and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
