Regular Season Round 20: Willetton T. - Lakeside L. 104-101

Date: July 22, 2016
Not a big story in a game in Willetton where 9th ranked Lightning (9-16) was edged by fifth ranked Tigers (16-9) 104-101 on Friday. However just three-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Tigers made 25-of-32 free shots (78.1 percent) during the game. They also forced 20 Lightning turnovers. Lightning was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of American swingman Jay Bowie (196-92, college: Marist) who helped to win the game recording 30 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists and guard Kyle Armour (183-89, college: Augusta) who added 17 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. Five Tigers players scored in double figures. American forward Daniel Alexander (206-91, college: Grand Canyon) responded with a double-double by scoring 43 points (!!!) and 15 rebounds and his fellow American import forward T.J. Hallice (206-92, college: Mercer) scored 9 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Tigers maintains fifth position in League with 16-9 record. Loser Lightning dropped to the tenth place with 16 games lost. Tigers will face Redbacks (#6) in Northbridge in the next round. Lightning will play on the road against Buccaneers (#4) in Wonthella and hope to win that game.
