Everything went according to plan in Cotton Tree where fifth ranked South West Metro Pirates (10-5) outscored 9th ranked Maroochydore Clippers (6-9) 90-67 on Friday. South West Metro Pirates made 17-of-21 free shots (81.0 percent) during the game. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Brendan Teys (188-90) who helped to win the game recording 26 points and 9 rebounds and forward Jarred Bairstow (201-92, college: Cent.Oklahoma) who added 24 points and 11 rebounds (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) during the contest. Four South West Metro Pirates players scored in double figures. The former international guard Jorden Page (185-90, college: St.Mary's, CA) responded with 17 points and 8 rebounds and American center Lester Ferguson (208-88, college: Robert Morris, agency: Interlace Hoops) scored 16 points and 7 rebounds. Maroochydore Clippers' coach gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. South West Metro Pirates moved-up to fourth place in League. Loser Maroochydore Clippers keep the ninth position with nine games lost. South West Metro Pirates will face Rollers (#12) in Gold Coast in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Maroochydore Clippers will play on the road against Ipswich Force in Booval and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
