The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Lady Cobras as it allowed them to take a leadership position in League. Lady Cobras smashed 4th placed Ballarat Rush in Kilsyth 88-64. The former international guard Stephanie Cumming (178-90) fired 19 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. American swingman Jasmine Gill (185-90, college: JMU) chipped in 19 points and 9 rebounds. Lady Cobras' coach felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Guard Abigail Wehrung (177-95) produced 20 points and American center Joy Burke (196-90, college: Arizona St.) added 11 points and 10 rebounds respectively for lost side. Five Lady Cobras and four Ballarat Rush players scored in double figures. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Ballarat Rush at the other side dropped to the fifth place with ten games lost. Ballarat Rush will play next round against strong Rangers trying to get back on the winning streak. Lady Cobras will try to continue on its current victory against first ranked Spectres in East Burwood.
