Eighth-ranked Hawks (11-14) gave a tough game to third ranked Flames (17-8) in Floreat. The visitors from Rockingham managed to secure only three-point victory 93-90. However their fans expected much easier game. Flames dominated down low during the game scoring 70 of its points in the paint compared to Hawks' 44. Americans were the main players on the court. Power forward Cooper Land (205-88, college: Wright St.) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 12 rebounds. Guard Taylor Land (186-86, college: St.Edward's) contributed with 19 points and 8 assists for the winners. Five Flames players scored in double figures. Guard Bryton Hobbs (183-91, college: Northeastern St.) replied with a double-double by scoring 35 points (!!!) and 11 rebounds and center Brian Carlwell (211-87, college: San Diego St.) added 21 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for Hawks. Flames maintains third position in League with 17-8 record having just nine point less than leader Geelong S. Hawks at the other side keep the eighth place with 14 games lost. Flames' next round opponent will be Eagles (#9) in Morley where they are favorite. Hawks will play at home against Suns and hope to win that game.
