Everything went according to plan in Ulverstone where first ranked Geelong Supercats (12-9) outscored 4th ranked NW Tasmania Thunder (10-10) 104-72 on Saturday. Geelong Supercats outrebounded NW Tasmania Thunder 39-26 including a 32-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international swingman Nathan Herbert (192-84) who helped to win the game recording 20 points and forward Ash Cannan (200-82, college: Colorado Christian) who added 17 points during the contest. Geelong Supercats' coach felt very confident that he used 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. American forward Gary Johnson (198-88, college: Texas) responded with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 13 rebounds and guard Mason Bragg (184-93) scored 13 points and 4 assists.
