Not a big story in a game in Gawler where 9th ranked Central District Lions (3-15) were defeated by fifth ranked Forestville Eagles (12-6) 96-88 on Saturday. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Central District Lions won third quarter 22-21. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Central District Lions 46-31 including a 18-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. Central District Lions were plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of point guard Adam Doyle (176-91) who helped to win the game recording 22 points and guard Kyle Howe-Tipene (185, college: Martin Methodist) who added 16 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. Koen Sapwell responded with 27 points and Joseph Campbell produced a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds. Five Forestville Eagles and four Central District Lions players scored in double figures. Forestville Eagles maintains fifth position in League with 12-6 record. Loser Central District Lions keep the ninth place with 15 games lost. Forestville Eagles will face Eastern Mavericks (#10) in Mt. Barker in the next round where they are favorite. Central District Lions will play at home against the league's leader Noarlunga City Southern Tigers and hope to win that game.
