There was a minor upset in Narrabeen where 7th ranked Manly Warringah Sea Eagles (7-11) were defeated by tenth ranked Hills Hornets (5-13) 73-63 on Saturday. Hills Hornets dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Manly Warringah Sea Eagles' 28. They outrebounded Manly Warringah Sea Eagles 54-33 including a 14-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. Hills Hornets looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of Michael Claus (, college: LA Pierce JC) who helped to win the game recording 16 points and 9 rebounds and naturalized Greek swingman Emils Duselis (192) who added 17 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. Four Hills Hornets players scored in double figures. Hills Hornets' coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Point guard Luke Cooper (183-84, college: Alaska-Anch.) responded with 9 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists and Cale Bulgin scored 11 points. Hills Hornets maintains tenth position in League with 5-13 record. Loser Manly Warringah Sea Eagles dropped to the eighth place with 11 games lost. Hills Hornets will face higher ranked Sutherland Sharks (#7) at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game.
