Regular Season Round 19: Knox R. - Diamond VE 85-66

No shocking result in a game in Wantirna South where second ranked Knox Raiders (18-2) smashed 8th ranked Diamond Valley Eagles (9-11) 85-66 on Sunday. The game without a history. Knox Raiders led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 44 of its points in the paint compared to Diamond Valley Eagles' 22 and made 23-of-27 free shots (85.2 percent) during the game. Knox Raiders forced 27 Diamond Valley Eagles turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Diamond Valley Eagles were plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. American forward Korinne Campbell (184-88, college: W.Virginia) fired a double-double by scoring 28 points and 10 rebounds for the winners (made all of her ten free throws !!!). Guard Elli Lovelace (178-90) chipped in 11 points and 8 rebounds. Four Knox Raiders players scored in double figures. The former international guard Mikayla Pirini (169-96) produced 26 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists and the former international Belinda Snell (180-81) added 10 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for lost side. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Knox Raiders maintains second place in League with 18-2 record having just nineteen point less than leader Rockingham CF. Loser Diamond Valley Eagles dropped to the seventh position with 11 games lost. Knox Raiders will face league's leader Sharks in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Diamond Valley Eagles will play against Venom (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
