Regular Season Round 20: Nunawading S. - Hobart C. 89-85

There was a change at the State League leadership position after last games. Round 20 most important game was a defeat of league's leader Chargers (17-5). They were defeated by sixth ranked Spectres (10-10) 89-85 on Sunday night. Spectres outrebounded Chargers 51-29 including a 33-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of power forward Simon Conn (206-83, college: Gardner-Webb) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 30 points and 11 rebounds and forward Andrew Steel (200-91, college: Cal Poly Pomona) who added 21 points and 11 rebounds during the contest. Spectres' coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Zachary White responded with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 12 rebounds and American swingman Shane Southwell (201-92, college: Kansas St.) scored 20 points and 5 rebounds. Four Chargers players scored in double figures. Spectres moved-up to fourth place in League. Chargers at the other side dropped to the second position with five games lost. They were replaced at the leadership position by Geelong S.. Chargers will have a break next week, which should allow them to rest and make it back to the top of the standings. Spectres will try to continue on its current victory against sixth ranked Kilsyth Cobras at home.
