There was a surprise result when ninth ranked Maitland Mustangs (7-11) won against at home higher ranked Crusaders (11-8) 89-77 on Sunday. Maitland Mustangs looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Mitchell Rueter (198, college: Cent.Arkansas) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 29 points and 11 rebounds and Tyrrell Turner who added 14 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists during the contest. Forward Callum Jenkins responded with 26 points and 6 rebounds and Steve Mackay scored 9 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Maitland Mustangs maintains ninth position in League with 7-11 record. Loser Crusaders dropped to the fifth place with eight games lost. Maitland Mustangs will face higher ranked Sydney City Comets (#3) in Alexandria in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
