Regular Season Round 2: Halcones - Aguilas 93-65

The biggest surprise of round 2 in LPB took place in Panama City where host Halcones (2-0) crushed Aguilas (1-1) 93-65 on Saturday evening. The game without a history. Halcones led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Halcones outrebounded Aguilas 37-23 including 27 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. 27 personal fouls committed by Aguilas helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was forward Ernesto Oglivie (203-89) who scored 26 points and 7 rebounds. International power forward Antonio Garcia (202-76, college: Ky Wesleyan) chipped in 10 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. The former international forward Josimar Ayarza (205-87, college: S.Mississippi) produced 26 points and 5 rebounds and swingman Jonathan King (198-90, college: Abil.Christian) added 4 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for the guests. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Aguilas will have a break next week, which should allow them to rest. Halcones will try to continue on its current victory against Aguilas. It will be extra interesting game as Aguilas is their local rival from Panama City.
