Bottom-ranked America (0-6) is still winless. This time they lost on the road their sixth consecutive match to sixth ranked Rio Claro (3-3) 72-60. The game was mostly controlled by Rio Claro. America was better in fourth quarter 23-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The former international guard Guilherme Pereira (190-91) notched 20 points and 5 rebounds to lead the effort and Mateus Dalla Barba (198-91) supported him with 15 points. Even 17 points and 6 rebounds by American point guard Dave Boykin (196-88, college: Bridgeport) did not help to save the game for America. His fellow American import Randon Dyer (196-87) added 5 points and 6 rebounds. America's coach Julio Malfi rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Rio Claro maintains sixth position with 3-3 record. America at the other side still closes the standings with six games lost. They share the position with Bauru. Rio Claro will play against higher ranked Pinheiros (#3) in Sao Paolo in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. America will play at home against XV Piracicaba (#7) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
