Regular Season Round 3: Toros - Halcones 83-76

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Halcones (2-1) in David on Saturday night. Visitors were defeated by Toros (2-1) 83-76. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Halcones won third quarter 29-20. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Strangely Halcones outrebounded Toros 44-32 including a 19-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a good game for point guard Joel Munoz (183-80, agency: Paris Global Sports) who led his team to a victory with 30 points and 6 assists. Forward Michael Hicks (196-76, college: Texas A&M-CC) contributed with 15 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Four Toros players scored in double figures. International power forward Antonio Garcia (202-76, college: Ky Wesleyan) answered with 8 points, 16 rebounds and 6 assists and forward Ernesto Oglivie (203-89) added 20 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Halcones. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Toros is looking forward to face Caballos (#6) in Aguadulce in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Halcones' supporters also look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Panama City Panteras.
