Regular Season Round 5: Toros - Aguilas 59-72

The biggest surprise of round 5 in LPB was guest Aguilas' (3-2) road victory over Toros (#4) 72-59 on Sunday evening. Aguilas held Toros to an opponent 25.0 percent shooting from the field compared to 46.0 percent accuracy of the winners. 29 personal fouls committed by Toros helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was the former international forward Josimar Ayarza (205-87, college: S.Mississippi) who scored 33 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds. Swingman Jonathan King (198-90, college: Abil.Christian) chipped in 14 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals. Darnell Grazette produced a double-double by scoring 12 points and 12 rebounds and point guard Joel Munoz (183-80, agency: Paris Global Sports) added 8 points and 6 assists respectively for the hosts. Toros' coach Vicente Duncan rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Aguilas moved-up to second place, which they share with Halcones. Toros at the other side keep the fourth position with three games lost. They share it with Correcaminos. Aguilas' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Panama City Panteras.
