Regular Season Round 11: Rio Claro - Franca 65-61

Very important is a road loss of third ranked Vivo/Franca (8-3) against sixth ranked Rio Claro (5-6) on Wednesday night. Visiting Vivo/Franca was defeated by Rio Claro in a tough game in Rio Claro 61-65. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Vivo/Franca. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Vivo/Franca won third quarter 16-14. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Rio Claro won last quarter 18-15. It was a great evening for the former international point guard George Yeye Torres (188-91) who led his team to a victory scoring 17 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Mateus Dalla Barba (198-91) helped adding 12 points. International point guard Henrique Coelho (183-93) responded with 14 points and 5 rebounds and Pedro Lima (191-87) scored 7 points and 6 rebounds. Rio Claro maintains sixth place with 5-6 record. Vivo/Franca at the other side keeps the third position with three games lost. They share it with Paulistano. Rio Claro will play against higher ranked Paulistano (#4) in Sao Paolo in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Vivo/Franca will play on the road against Paschoalotto/Bauru and hopes to get back on the winning track.
