Regular Season Round 11: Paulistano - America 83-58

No shocking result in a game when fourth ranked Paulistano (8-3) crushed 7th ranked America (3-9) in Sao Paolo 83-58. The game was mostly controlled by Paulistano. America was better in second period 18-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded America 51-27 including a 41-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. Paulistano players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. The best player for the winners was point guard Arthur Pecos (183-95) who scored 20 points and 5 rebounds. The former international center Guilherme Hubner (208-87) chipped in 10 points and 8 rebounds. Four Paulistano players scored in double figures. Center Radames Santos (204-91) produced 12 points and center Ygor Viana (208-86) added 4 points and 7 rebounds respectively for the guests. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the third consecutive win for Paulistano. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Franca. America lost their third game in a row. They keep the seventh position with nine games lost. Paulistano's next round opponent will be Rio Claro (#6) on the road.
