Regular Season Round 11: Osasco B. - Pinheiros 92-88

The game between second ranked Pinheiros (9-3) and fifth ranked Osasco B. (7-4) was the most important one in the last round on Thursday night. Pinheiros was defeated by Osasco B. in a tough game on the road 88-92. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 23-17. But Pinheiros won second period 18-17. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Forward Igor Avelino (196-93) orchestrated the victory by scoring 25 points and 5 rebounds (on 10-of-11 shooting from the field). Naturalized Italian point guard Thiago Aleo (188-89) contributed with 15 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists for the winners. American guard Cordero Bennett (188-88) answered with 26 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field) and the other American import guard Desmond Holloway (191-90, college: Co.Carolina) added 11 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists in the effort for Pinheiros. Four Osasco B. and five Pinheiros players scored in double figures. Osasco B. maintains fifth place with 7-4 record. Pinheiros at the other side keeps the second position with three games lost. Osasco B. are looking forward to face league's leader Mogi in Mogi das Cruzes in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Pinheiros will have a break next round.
