Regular Season Round 6: Halcones - Caballos 81-75

Date: September 3, 2016
No shocking result in a game when second ranked Halcones (4-2) beat bottom-ranked Caballos (1-5) in Panama City 81-75. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Halcones made 18-of-23 charity shots (78.3 percent) during the game. Halcones outrebounded Caballos 40-27 including 28 on the defensive glass. Forward Ernesto Oglivie (203-89) scored 18 points and 8 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and swingman Abid Oses (198-95, college: Antelope Valley CC) chipped in 15 points during the contest. The best for the losing side was American guard CJ Rodriguez (188, college: S.Nazarene) with 19 points and 4 steals and Venezuelan guard Jesus Centeno (190-85) scored 16 points and 4 assists. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Halcones maintains second position with 4-2 record behind leader Panteras. Caballos at the other side stay at the bottom place with five games lost. Halcones will play against Toros (#5) in David in the next round. Caballos will play on the road against Aguilas in Panama City and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
