Regular Season Round 1: Roche - Reims 58-49

Roche used a home court advantage and beat the opponent from Reims 58-49. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 19-7. But Reims won second period 14-11. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Roche dominated on the defensive end, holding Reims to just 7 points in first quarter. They outrebounded Reims 43-25 including 32 on the defensive glass. It was a very good performance for DR Congolese center Bernadette Ngoyisa (195-82) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 16 points and 12 rebounds. Naturalized Senegalese forward Mariame Dia (185-78) contributed with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Montenegrin center Natasa Popovic (192-82) answered with 15 points and 7 rebounds and guard Fleur Devillers (181-95) added 9 points and 5 assists in the effort for Reims. Roche's next round opponent will be Dunkerque (#10) on the road and are hoping to win another game. Reims will play against Roannais and hope to win that game.
