Regular Season Round 8: Correcaminos - Caballos 81-72

The game with biggest result difference took place in Colon. Local Correcaminos (5-3) beat 5th ranked Caballos (2-6) 81-72 on Saturday night. Caballos trailed by 13 points after 3 quarters before a 24-20 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 72-81 at the end of the game. Correcaminos looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists comparing to just 17 passes made by Caballos' players. Worth to mention a quality performance of center Jaime Lloreda (204-80, college: LSU) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 27 points and 13 rebounds and the former international point guard Anibal Salazar (178-88) who added 10 points and 14 assists during the contest. American forward Justin Moss (201-93, college: Buffalo) responded with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds and the former international swingman Anell Alexis (200-90, college: Marist, agency: Octagon Europe) scored 11 points and 5 assists. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Correcaminos have a solid three-game winning streak. Defending champion moved-up to second place, which they share with Panteras. Loser Caballos dropped to the bottom position with six games lost. Correcaminos will meet Aguilas (#4) in the next round. Caballos will play against Toros and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
