Regular Season Round 1: Hispano Am. - San Lorenzo 72-94

Date: September 22, 2016
There was no surprise in Rio Gallegos where Hispano Am. (0-2) was crushed by San Lorenzo (2-0) 94-72 on Thursday. The guests trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 1-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 94-72. San Lorenzo outrebounded Hispano Am. 34-22 including 25 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. The former international Marcos Mata (201-86) fired 15 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. International forward Gabriel Deck (199-95) chipped in 9 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. American forward Kyle Austin (203-88, college: Cal-Riverside, agency: SPORTlab Agency) produced 14 points and 8 rebounds and power forward Gonzalo Torres (202-94) added 15 points respectively for lost side. Four Hispano Am. players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. San Lorenzo will face Obras Basket (#8) in Buenos Aires in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Hispano Am. will play on the road against Quilmes MP in Mar del Plata and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
