Regular Season Round 4: Ekeren - Gembo BBC 75-80

Very predictable result when top-ranked Gembo BBC (4-0) defeated on the road 9th ranked Ekeren (1-3) 80-75 on Saturday. Gembo BBC forced 20 Ekeren turnovers. Ekeren was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Eli Van Aken (193-85) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds and French swingman Nicolas Wachowiak (200-91) who added 12 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side guard Andreas Rojas Palma (188-92) responded with 11 points and 8 rebounds and the former international power forward Maarten Rademakers (204-91) scored 11 points and 7 rebounds. Four Ekeren players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Gembo BBC have a solid four-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Oxaco. Newly promoted Ekeren dropped to the eleventh place with three games lost. Gembo BBC will face Houthalen (#13) at home in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Ekeren will play against Gistel Oostende and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
