Regular Season Round 2: Aulnoye - Avenir 62-67

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Aulnoye (1-1) at the home court on Saturday night. Hosts were defeated by Avenir (2-0) 67-62. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Aulnoye won third quarter 16-5. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Avenir dominated on the defensive end, holding Aulnoye to just 5 points in first quarter. They also forced 28 Aulnoye turnovers. The best player for the winners was American forward Tiffany Clarke (183-91, college: Vanderbilt) who scored 27 points and 6 rebounds. Point guard Magali Mendy (178-90) chipped in a double-double by scoring 17 points and 11 rebounds. Center Cora Duval (185-87) produced 10 points and 6 rebounds and forward Maud Medenou (189-90) added 14 points respectively for the hosts. Four Aulnoye players scored in double figures. Aulnoye's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Avenir is looking forward to face Montbrison (#10) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Aulnoye will play against SIG (#9) in llkirch-Graff. and is hoping to win this game.
