Regular Season Round 1: Shimane SM - Kagoshima 101-64

Rather predictable result when Shimane Magic (2-0) smashed at home Kagoshima (0-2) 101-64 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Shimane Magic. Kagoshima was better in third quarter 21-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Kagoshima to just 6 points in first quarter. Shimane Magic shot 62.7 percent from the field. Point guard Edward Yamamoto (173-86) stepped up and scored 18 points for the winners and American forward Josh Davis (203-91, college: San Diego St.) chipped in 13 points and 7 rebounds. Five Shimane Magic players scored in double figures. At the losing side Canadian center Chad Posthumus (211-91, college: Morehead St.) responded with 22 points and 6 rebounds and forward Ryuichiro Nakazono (190-78) scored 16 points. Kagoshima's coach gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Shimane Magic will face again Kagoshima (#6) in Renova in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game.
