Regular Season Round 1: Gran Canaria B - Rivas 53-44

Gran Canaria B used a home court advantage and won against the opponent from Rivas 53-44. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 15-6. But Rivas won second period 13-7. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Gran Canaria B dominated on the defensive end, holding Rivas to just 6 points in first quarter. Lithuanian center Rokas Gadiliauskas (205-98) nailed 7 points and 9 rebounds for the winning side and guard Joaquin Portugues (185-95) accounted for 8 points. Power forward Angel Gomez (197-87) came up with 12 points and 5 rebounds and forward David Ajero (200-75) added 9 points and 6 rebounds respectively for Rivas in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players saving starting five for next games. Gran Canaria B's next round opponent will be La Roda (#4) on the road. Rivas will play against Villarrobledo (#16) and hope to win that game.
