Regular Season Round 1: Rybnik - AZS KU PO 46-62

Rybnik was not able to use a home court advantage and was defeated by the opponent from Opole 62-46 on Saturday night. AZS KU PO made 17-of-22 free shots (77.3 percent) during the game. It was a very good performance for Bartosz Koszela (201-89) who helped to win the game recording 15 points and 7 rebounds (made all of his seven free throws). Point guard Krzysztof Chmielarz (180-88) contributed with 13 points and 4 assists for the winners. Forward Krzysztof Zielinski (192-82) answered with 11 points and forward Adam Bialdyga (198-87) added 8 points in the effort for Rybnik. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. AZS KU PO will face Zaglebie (#13) in Sosnowiec in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Rybnik will play on the road against MKS DG 2 (#10) in Dabrowa Gornicza and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
