Regular Season Round 1: Zaglebie - Polonia Bytom 57-86

Zaglebie was not able to use a home court advantage and was crushed by the opponent from Bytom 86-57 on Saturday night. Polonia Bytom outrebounded Zaglebie 43-31 including 30 on the defensive glass. Quite impressive performance for point guard Tomasz Wrobel (186-85) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 15 points, 5 rebounds and 10 assists. Forward Grzegorz Zadecki (195-83) contributed with 19 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Four Polonia Bytom players scored in double figures. Point guard Pawel Jurczynski (183-91) answered with 28 points and point guard Pawel Wolk-Jankowski (185-81) added 9 points in the effort for Zaglebie. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Polonia Bytom will face AZS PCz in Czestochowa in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Zaglebie will play on the road against AZS KU PO (#1) in Opole and hope to win that game.
