Regular Season Round 1: Pau-Lacq-Orthez - Cholet 81-79

Pau-Lacq-Orthez used a home court advantage and edged the opponent from Cholet 81-79 on Saturday night. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Cholet Basket won fourth quarter 23-15. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Pau-Lacq-Orthez looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. American point guard D.J. Cooper (183-90, college: Ohio) fired a double-double by scoring 20 points, 7 rebounds, 12 assists and 4 steals for the winners. Naturalized Congolese Jean-Michel Mipoka (198-85, agency: Comsport) chipped in 15 points and 5 rebounds. American point guard Isaiah Swann (188-85, college: Florida St.) produced 10 points and 8 assists and the other American import center Graham Brown (206-84, college: Michigan) added 15 points and 5 rebounds respectively for lost side. Four Cholet Basket players scored in double figures. Pau-Lacq-Orthez will face Le Mans (#4) on the road in the next round. Cholet Basket will play against Chalons-Reims (#11) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
