Regular Season Round 2: Shiga L-Stars - SeaHorses 73-85

The game between closely ranked teams ended with Shiga L-Stars' (0-2) home loss to Aishin Sea Horses (2-0) 73-85 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Aishin Sea Horses. Shiga L-Stars was better in third quarter 23-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The former international swingman Kosuke Kanamaru (193-89) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 10 rebounds. American center Isaac Butts (208-89, college: Appalachian St.) contributed with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. Zimbabwean-American Julian Mavunga (203-90, college: Miami, OH, agency: Pensack Sports) replied with 21 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists and American center David Weaver (207-87, college: Wake Forest) added 8 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Shiga L-Stars. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Aishin Sea Horses will face Diamond Dolphins in Nagoya in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Shiga L-Stars will play on the road against Ryukyu GK in Okinawa and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
