Regular Season Round 2: Yamagata - Gunma 66-62

Gunma (1-1) recorded a loss on the court of Yamagata. Visitors were defeated by Yamagata 66-62. Gunma was ahead by 4 points at the halftime before a 39-31 second half run of Yamagata. Swingman Mitsutaka Izawa (194-93) orchestrated the victory by scoring 13 points and 5 rebounds. American center Markhuri Sanders-Frison (203-88, college: California) contributed with 11 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Nigerian forward Abdullahi Kuso (206-84, college: Tallahassee CC) replied with 22 points and 7 rebounds and point guard Masashi Obuchi (182-83) added 9 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Gunma. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Yamagata will play against Fukushima on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Gunma will play against Aomori Watts and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
