Regular Season Round 2: Iwate Big Bulls - Fukushima 68-71

A very close game took place in Iwate between Fukushima and Iwate Big Bulls. Fukushima (2-0) got a very close victory on the road over Iwate Big Bulls (0-2). Fukushima managed to escape with a 3-point win 71-68 on Sunday evening. The guests trailed by 9 points after first quarter, but they rallied back and won the game by 3 points. American center Nigel Spikes (208-89, college: Marshall) had a double-double by scoring 19 points and 17 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import guard Cedric Bozeman (198-83, college: UCLA) chipped in 18 points during the contest. Four Fukushima players scored in double figures. American center Donald Lawson (208-88, college: W.Michigan) responded with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 16 rebounds and point guard Koji Nagata (180-81) scored 10 points. Iwate Big Bulls' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Fukushima will meet at home Yamagata (#5) in the next round. Iwate Big Bulls will play against Cyberdyne IR in Tsukuba and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
