Regular Season Round 2: Osaka Evessa - Hokkaido L. 58-70

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when Osaka Evessa (1-1) lost at home to Hokkaido L. (1-1) 70-58 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Hokkaido L.. Osaka Evessa was better in third quarter 24-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a great shooting night for Hokkaido L. especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 56.3 percentage. American center Daniel Miller (211-91, college: Georgia Tech) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 rebounds. The former international guard Ryota Sakurai (194-83) contributed with 14 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. American forward Josh Harrellson (208-89, college: Kentucky) replied with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 14 rebounds and his fellow American import power forward Xavier Gibson (210-88, college: Florida St., agency: Comsport) added 9 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Osaka Evessa. Osaka Evessa's coach Dai Oketani tested twelve players in this game, but that didn't help. Hokkaido L. will face Sendai 89ers (#5) on the road in the next round. Osaka Evessa will play against Kyoto Hannar. and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
