Regular Season Round 2: Deerlijk - Oostende 64-61

A very interesting game took place in Deerlijk. It ended with only three-point defeat on the road of KB D-Glas (0-2) to Tulikivi (1-1) 64-61 on Sunday evening. KB D-Glas were ahead by 8 points after three quarters before a 19-8 charge of Tulikivi, which allowed them to win the game. They dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to KB D-Glas' 26. Tulikivi forced 32 KB D-Glas turnovers and outrebounded them 39-23 including a 22-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. Guard Silke Storme (172-92) notched a double-double by scoring 16 points and 16 rebounds to lead the effort and forward Lien Delmulle (181-93) supported her with 4 points and 10 rebounds. Tulikivi's coach Benny Mertens allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Even 17 points and 5 rebounds by Canadian Melissa Rondinelli (184-92) did not help to save the game for KB D-Glas. Sasja Fransen (177-90) added 16 points for the guests. Tulikivi's next round opponent will be Liege (#5) on the road. KB D-Glas will play against Houthalen (#10) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
