Regular Season Round 4: Rotterdam - Royal Eagles 68-69

A very close game took place in Rotterdam between Royal Eagles and Rotterdam. Seventh ranked Royal Eagles (1-2) got a very close victory on the road over 5th ranked Rotterdam (1-3). Royal Eagles managed to escape with a 1-point win 69-68 in the fight for the fifth place. Royal Eagles forced 20 Rotterdam turnovers. The winners were led by American-Israeli guard Thea Lemberger (170-92, college: UCLA) who scored that evening 21 points and 4 steals and American guard Sidney Dobner (168, college: Regina) supported her with 15 points and 8 rebounds. Even a double-double of 27 points and 10 rebounds by the former international center Jantine Kraak (193-89, college: W.Illinois) did not help to save the game for Rotterdam. Guard Sanne van Dongen (172-93) added 11 points and 8 rebounds for lost side. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Royal Eagles left bottom position moving up to fifth place. It was Rotterdam's third loss in a row. Rotterdam at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the sixth position with three games lost. Royal Eagles will meet Loon Lions (#7) in the next round. Rotterdam will play against Den Helder in Den Helder and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
