Regular Season Round 2: Ferrocarril - GECR Indalo 93-83

There was no surprise when GECR Indalo (1-2) lost to Ferrocarril (2-0) in Buenos Aires 83-93. The game was mostly controlled by Ferrocarril. GECR Indalo was better in third quarter 27-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 27-of-33 charity shots (81.8 percent) during the game. Ferrocarril forced 20 GECR Indalo turnovers. GECR Indalo was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. American-Puerto Rican Ramon Clemente (200-85, college: Wichita St.) scored 24 points and 9 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) to lead the charge for the winners and international point guard Franco Balbi (185-89) chipped in 13 points and 11 assists during the contest. Ferrocarril's coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Nigeria-American power forward Lotanna Nwogbo (203-93, college: Longwood) responded with 18 points and 6 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) and American swingman O'Louis McCullough (198-82, college: Francis Marion, agency: DTMones) scored 18 points. Five Ferrocarril and four GECR Indalo players scored in double figures. Ferrocarril will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. GECR Indalo will play on the road against Obras Basket (#9) in Buenos Aires to get more than just one victory in their record.
