Regular Season Round 1: Baerum Basket - Centrum 80-108

Another exciting game was played in Bekkestua between Centrum and Baerum Basket where Centrum (1-0) crushed Baerum Basket (0-1) on the road with 28-point difference 108-80. The game without a history. Centrum led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 16-of-21 charity shots (76.2 percent) during the game. Centrum forced 20 Baerum Basket turnovers and outrebounded them 34-22 including 21 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of American Torgrim Sommerfeldt (198-89, college: Manhattan) who helped to win the game recording 21 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. The former international forward Miilah Kombat (198-88, college: N.Idaho JC) contributed with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Five Centrum players scored in double figures. Point guard Stian Mjos (183-89) answered with 26 points and American point guard Eric Gilchrese (183-87, college: New Hampshire) added 17 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 6 steals in the effort for Baerum Basket. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Centrum will play against Gimle BBK (#3) in Bergen in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Baerum Basket will play at home against Asker Aliens and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
