Regular Season Round 3: San Lorenzo - Argentino 92-63
Date: October 1, 2016
Everything went according to plan in Almagra where San Lorenzo (3-0) outscored Argentino (1-3) 92-63 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by San Lorenzo. Argentino was better in fourth quarter 23-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Argentino 36-20 including a 32-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. San Lorenzo shot the lights out from three sinking 13 long-distance shots on high 61.9 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Argentino's players. It was a great evening for the former international Marcos Mata (201-86) who led his team to a victory scoring 19 points and 8 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). American center Jerome Meyinsse (206-88, college: Virginia, agency: Stealth Sport) helped adding 9 points and 8 rebounds. The best for the losing side was Mateo Bolivar (187-92) with 17 points and American power forward Chaz Crawford (207-84, college: Drexel, agency: DTMones) scored 10 points and 5 rebounds. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. San Lorenzo will face GECR Indalo (#5) in Comodoro R. in the next round. Argentino will play at home against Quilmes MP and hope to win that game.
